Ultra High-Density (UHD) connector
Ultra High-Density (UHD) connector
More channels, same footprint.
Mapping, diagnostic, and imaging systems keep adding channels, but the connector still has to fit the handle or panel, withstand repeated mating, and carry every signal cleanly. ATL Medical's UHD connector is a proprietary miniaturized-interconnect platform built for that problem: 218 contacts in a circular design, with validation completed in November 2022 and protection under U.S. Patent No. 10,931,069.

The engineering behind the connector.
What does signal integrity mean here?
Transmitting data while minimizing distortion and dilution. ATL Medical controls the parts of the transmission medium that affect it: wires, insulation, shielding, connectors, and the spacing between them.
What causes signal loss in a dense connector?
Attenuation, conductor loss, radiative loss, return loss, impedance mismatch, crosstalk, and coupling.
How does ATL Medical reduce noise and crosstalk?
Through shielding, twisting, conductor separation, cable arrangement, pitch, and lay direction, chosen for the device and its signals.
How is signal integrity measured?
Vector network analyzers and S-parameters for return loss and VSWR; time-domain reflectometry (TDR) for impedance, delay, and rise time; and eye patterns for signal-integrity qualification.
Why design for a MuMetal ring?
A MuMetal ring can increase inductance and filter high-frequency noise, which supports clean signal transmission through a high-contact-count connector.
Can ATL Medical terminate the fine wire behind it?
Yes. ATL Medical's fine-wire capability includes 40–46 AWG magnet-wire termination and 44 AWG coax-ribbon bulk stripping for termination.
